  • Colour theory – study of different types of  colours and their combinations
  • Garment details
  • Sewing machine and practice – machine problems, sewing aids, needle and threads
  • Basic hand stitches – button fixing,button holing, hook fixing, eyelets, hemming, stitching sari fall etc.
  • Basic seams
  • Fibers and Fabrics and fabric recognitions – study of different kinds of fabrics
  • Fabric care – spots and stain removal
  • Garment fitting,seams allowance, fabric requirement

  2. Purse with decorative stitches/jewelry box/baby bag
  3. Hand towel/table cloth/decorative accessories
  4. Linen(Bed sheet, quilt cover & pillow cover)/table mats, coasters and napkins
  5. Multi paneled curtain/wall hanging
  6. Place mat

 

      Women’s wear

 

  1. How to take measurements and women’s measurement chart
  2. Basic bodice block
  3. Panelled top with cuff sleeves/top variations
  4. Basic skirt block
  5. Wrap around skirt/semi circular knee length skirt/squat
  6. Basic trouser block and flat front trousers/Capri
  7. Simple kurta with neck and sleeve variations with plain pajama
  8. Princess shirt
  9. Pathwork kurta(day wear) and Salwar with belt or dogri salwar
  10. Angaraka kurta(formal wear) and churidhar with belt
  11. Odhni/shawl/shamiez
  12. Blouse & petticoat/blouse with lining
  13. Kaftan / night suit
  14. Nightie / nightie &gown

 

 

Men’s wear

 

  1. Men’s size chart
  2. Basic shirt block and half sleeve shirt / formal shirt
  3. Basic trouser block and flat front trouser / cargo pant
  4. Bengali kurta & aligarhi pajama / Nehru kurta & aligarhi pajama / achkan
  5. Kalidar kurta & churidar pajama
  6. Waist coat / denim jacket/ / night suit

 

Children’s wear

       EXAMINATION

 

  1. Theory examination with true / false options
  2. Drafting patterns of three garments
  3. Practical examination with stitching of one garment
  4. Regular assessment by way of checking all records maintained by the students
  5. These marks should form  part of the assessment for the examination.
